BumperPlugs.com group buy?
I will be ordering a couple sets of painted bumperettes from BumperPlugs.com in the couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone else would be interested in a group buy? Normal price is $275/pair I'm hoping we could get $225/pair or so for a group buy, what do you think? I will talk to Eric at BumperPlugs if enough people respond.

Bump,I don't think that enough people saw this thread.

Just an FYI.
Eric at BumperPlugs is a great guy! He is also a "door prize" sponsor for our upcoming Tail of the Dragon (TOD) trip the first weekend of May. Blinkwatt, you will love his work, and your car will look great withthe painted bumperettes. :) |
Anyone done these in black?
I ws thinking about putting black ones on my black car but not sure how much (if anything) it would add. I like the shine of the paint better than dressing the plastic all the time. Anyone have pictures of these on their car in black?

Just as a thought, you could bring your bumperettes to any qualified collision center for probably about 100.00 and have them refinished in your color. Just be sure to have the shop prime and sand the bumperettes so that they take any texture out of the surface. I did mine last week with excellent results!
I know that Eric runs a great business...I'm mearly making a suggestion to save everyone a few bucks for something very easy. Best of luck! |
I have a couple of pieces from Eric on my car and the quality is great. His delivery is fast, as well. However...
Why not try it yourself? The bumperettes are small enough that they are a great do it yourself project. There are several companies out there selling factory match paint on the internet. If you don't own a spray rig, they even package the base-coat and clear in 12oz aerosol cans. A can of base-coat, a can of clear and a good epoxy primer would run you about $40.00, saving you $200.00+. Just a thought. I did mine when I re-shot my interior pieces... http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2..._011/Rear2.jpg |
I guess I should give a couple of shops around town a call to see what they would charge to paint them. Good thinking!

I've heard great things about Eric's operation as well, but I'm sorry, I'm not paying someone $275 for what I can give my body guy $50 (or $100, in fair market price) for. For that matter, since they are small plastic parts, you could easily spray them yourself for pennies compared to $275.
