Under $50k !

Even with the mileage, if it passed a PPI I would love to own this car...

ohioboxster, I think I found your next ride :o

IMO 81K milage is kind of risky, even if it passed PPI. If you are a handy mechanic or can negotiate some kind of coverage with the dealership (in case it breaks down after PPI), it could be a good deal.

yeah thats kinda high mileage, in a year or so you will have a 100k miles porsche for 50 grand...

Turbo maintenance can be a bit $$$. These were $100K+ cars and will be more expensive (turbos, awd all add complexity) than your box to maintain. Then again, it could be a lot more fun to drive too ;)

That's true, but it's a turbo. In 10 yrs, that car will still be worth maybe $30k (assuming he does not trash it) and a brand new Boxster driven and treated similarly will be worth half that.

And.....10 yrs from now see who has wrinkles from permanently grinning. :D

I am always shocked when I see how the interior of a $100K Porsche looks almost identical to my 99 Boxster that I bought for a fraction of the price. Looking at the dash, it would be almost impossible to tell the difference. Even the seats look similar.

A Turbo for under $50k is tempting, but I would be very concerned about maintenance with close to $100k. Between turbos, awd, and a very expensive engine that could get expensive at the worst time. I'd gladly pay $10k more half the mileage.
