Delete kit..?

I'm sorry to be so ignorant, but what is this console "delete kit"??

Is this something you spend poop lot of money on, or is it a simple DIY?

I just wanna get rid of that stack of crap below my radio, and hopefully without purchasing some silly "kit". Btw, mine is a Box '98.

When you remove the lower console, you will notice some kind of cimputer module. Buying the kit is a nice way to hide it, and you can gain some kneeroom. I broke down and ordered the kit for these very reasons. It's simple DIY, but the kit runs about $120 and can be a "special order" part, meaning extra time before it arrives ;)

Not sure.. They list a small selection of colors on the site but I doubt Zenith blue is one of them. After I placed my order last week, I was informed that they were waiting on the parts from Germany - ie, they aren't necessarily instock items.

There are 2 parts to order. Part 1 is a carpeted panel and you would likely order to match you existing carpet color. Part 2 is a small plastic piece that snaps in, in front of the gearshift area. .Maybe 2" side to side and 1" deep. Depending on the color of your shift boot you could go for a match of that.. or you could perhaps paint it yourself. Not sure the dealer with color match to an existing special order color console.

weird concept tho, pay money to take out parts heheh

im kinda 50/50 about it, couse it makes it look like a centerconsole out of an old caddy with nothing in the middle seperating it, all you need is some bench seats hehe

DIY delete

My carpet is black so I used common auto grade carpet to cover the computer module and relocated the footwell lights. If done with care, very few people will ever notice that it's DIY vs the delete kit. I did have to order the plastic trim piece to cover the void in front of the shift boot. I spent $45 versus $145 and gained some much needed knee room.

I'm with you DJ. I don't like the look, but to each their own.

Nice pic of the Caddy. nice comparison.

This is exactly what I was looking for -- a DIY thingee. Do you happen to have the part number for this plastic trim piece?
