Will an 07' headlights fit in an 01' ?

I really really want to get rid of the yellow/amber part of my headlights with a smoked/clear style headlight. Is this possible?

nope.

you have look for clear halogens 1997-2004 ($500) or bite the bullet and order Litronics (HID).

one member here spray painted the orange with silver paint. Loooked ok to me.

you are asking two different questions here:

Q: Can I de-amber a 2001 headlight?
A: Yes, has been covered quite often on this and other forums, simply search for de-amber

Q: Can I fit a 987 headlight into a 986?
A: Only if you retrofit the whole front with 987 parts, you looking at MAJOR $$$ here, might be cheaper to trade in your 986 for a 987

No, totally different shape. Some folks upgrade their 986 clear headlights to Litronics and put them them up for sale on Porsche sites, ebay, craigslist, etc.

I see! Thanks guys! I like the older style lights more, just not the amber. Hehe... (sorry to the guys that own the newer styled headlights)

another option is an earlier model 996 clear headlight.
