Joined the club...

of ripped plastic rear window members!.

Clearly I wasn't thinking as I was putting the top into the service position.. in 50 degree weather, with a 7 year old original top/window... heard a "pop" then a tear. Sure enough. 4" or so cut on the drivers side, mid height.

I know my options, just not happy that I was so careless.

Just wondering did you ever treat the plastic window to Plexus or any type of plastic cleaner/conditioner? It shoudn't have popped in 50 degress weather.

Well... 50 may have been optimistic. 50 in the sun. colder in my garage. much colder overnight...

and no to the Plexus. I only acquired the car last fall. At that time, there was a) quite a haze on the rear window and b) a distinct "fold" line as well. I had been careful to do the "chop" when I would put it down, but I was only putting it down when it was above 60 to begin with.

Think of it as an opportunity to upgrade.

I would, but I am such a cheapskate and stickler for originality, that I am not sure what I will do. For now though, I am thinking duct tape
