Fun Car Facts for Illinois
 
This data was in the Chicago Tribune (Transportation Section) today:

From car registration date, the following numer of cars are in Illinois:

9.6 million cars (240 million nationwide). And there are:

53 Yugos
156 Volkswagon "The Thing"
3 Renault Fuegos
36 AMC Pacers
47 Chevrolet Corvairs
141 Deloreans
7 Laforza Sport-utilities (what are these?)
4 Lamborghini LM002 Sport utilities
74 Merkur Scorpios
191 Ford Pintos

Without any statistics to back it up, it strikes me that in comparison to the number originally sold, there are probably a lot of surviving Things, and damn few Pacers, Corvairs, and Pintos.
