snorkel

i TOOK mine out. is there any way to put it back in?

I don't think you can. When you take the snorkel out there is this small groove on the snorkel that fits right in the airbox. When you take the snorkel out the small groove on the snorkel breaks a tiny section of the airbox off,no joke it's only 2mm wide of so. The groove keeps the snorkel in place and I don't know if the snorkel will fit securely back in place w/o the tiny part of the airbox that it fits into. Sorry if this is confusing,I could take pics if you don't know what I'm talking about.

im asking cuz, i got CEL and i want to put the snorkel back in and take it back to the dealer. im wondering if its from the desnorkel. if you had a rms problem would the CEL come on?
thanks

You can take it to the dealer de-snorkeled,I know plenty of people that have done it.

I know folks who have taken out and then reinserted snorkels before, so I'm pretty sure you can reinsert, but it may be true that it's easy to break off a portion of the airbox while removing the snorkel if not careful. Taking out the snorkel and having an RMS shouldn't produce a CEL. Did you run your car through a car wash or spray water through the intake while washing your car one day?

Maybe it's something unrelated, like leaving the gas cap unsecured after filling up one day.

I de-snorkled and re-snorkled several times without any problems.
Simply push the snorkel back in
I don't think that the dealer will notice
I couldn't think of any reason why de-snorkeling would create a CEL (unless yoyu decide to spray WD40 right into the side air intake  )

Hi,

The snorkel will go right back in, but takes about as much effort as removing it. Just reverse the procedure...
