Where to get Painted Center Console and Headrest?

Where are some places that I can get upgraded painted center console and headrests that match the color of my car?

Thanks!

Thanks guys! Anyone else? I'd like to make some comparisons.

You can contact the guy who did mine. He's up here in the Chicago area. I'm not sure how much for shipping, but he beat bumperplugs' prices. Just shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Hey Chills,
Who did your center console? That's nice work! Was it the guy on Ebay??

djomlas 04-03-2007 07:21 PM

chills, man i emailed that guy twice, no response

dcporsche, nope it is a friend of mine who lives in the Chicago area. He is a professional painter and has done a lot of work on exotic cars.

He painted my rear console, the two pieces on the center part, the bumperettes, and the screens behind the headrests. He also buffed out all of the scratches on the car.

I just took some more pics on Monday after giving her a bath.

Hey DJ, I'll e-mail him and ask him to contact you. PM me your contact info and I'll send it to him.

Chills, your green metallic console looks awesome.
Since you have an expert friend nearby, how about painting your roll bar instead of the mesh? I think it looks even better.

Believe me I asked him. He said he'd only be able to paint it if I removed it. I think that sucker is unremovable isn't it?

It's more involved, but definately doable.
Many people done that, I was one of them.

Chills, it can be done. And with most things Porsche related...ain't cheap. As a factory option I think mine was $535.

There is a great, very high end, paint shop in Lake Bluff called Ultimate Paint Shop (847-295-7404). They do all the Porsche body work for The Porsche Exchange up on the north shore. The owner's name is Joe Young. He will take it out, paint it and re-install for about $950. He will need the car for about 4-5 days. FYI.

Thanks for the info, bmuss. If I can't get them out myself I'll give your guy a call. I've got a daily driver so I wouldn't mind dropping her off for a few days. She could hang out with other Porsches for once. ;)

Jinnijazz, what all is involved in taking them off?

Chills, to take out the roll bars also involves partially removing the top. It is a big deal. They usually don't have to remove the seats, they just run them forward to make room.

jinijazz 04-04-2007 04:54 PM

Need two people because of the top has to be removed as bmussatti said.
But again the famous Trent Carter in PPBB did it all by himself if I remember correctly.
If the idea of removing top scares you off, I even saw some people in PPBB paint them without removing - very good masking - I may have the picture somewhere.

Chills 04-04-2007 05:03 PM

Huh... it sounds pretty involved. Not something I'd want to try while she's still under warranty.

I think when its time I'll head over to Bill's guy and have him do it. Green rollbars are on my list, but they are below things like a new exhaust. ;)

NIOstyle 04-04-2007 05:59 PM

Oh that bites! I should have taken the $535 headrest option. How much did you guys spend to do it yourself?

NIOstyle 04-09-2007 03:08 PM

Anybody else have any recommendation(s)?
