And don't forget that PCA uses the 'broomstick' rule.. :(

How hard is it to pass the broomstick rule? I'm 6'1 but the 987 allows you to sit pretty low.

I did the broomstick with no helmet and I have about 3 inches of clearance. How much space will a helmet take?

it will be close. keep in mind, though, that if you fail the broomstick rule, you can still run top-up.

The best thing is to check with the region AND track you will run with...

- Some regions allow use of the hardtop as a substitute for the broomstick rule
- Some regions will stick to the broomstick test regardless of which top you run
- Some tracks won't let you run top down without "open car" restraints - ie arm restraints AND fitting under a rollbar/broomstick test and visor/eye protection.

The point is, check first rather than showing up and being disappointed they wont let you run.

If you think about it, its only your head and neck being exposed in a rollover. If you think your neck can support a couple tons, go for it! ;)

I have the best wife!

My Christmas present was the 2-day course at Porsche Sport Driving School http://www.porschedriving.com/experience.htm !! I can not believe the cost. I almost do not want to go, but YAHOO! Sounds like from here that people think it is worth it. I cannot wait!
