New Carrera GT delivery!

Someone in the building where I work took delivery of a new Carrera GT the other day. First we thought it was our company's president (he could afford it, already has an Aston Martin Vanguish, Ferrari Modena, Bentley and a few others), but it wasn't his. Although we do think he has one on the way as well.

Man seeing this up close was just awesome! :)

These are the BEST pictures I have seen - all the magazines made it look much wider - this looks like a real car one could really drive.

The back engine/wing area looks too busy for a black car - I'm sure I'll manage to look past that when I get up close to one. Such a clean engine bay

Glad to see this car make it to the west coast.

Feels like even the performance of the Boxster is wasted in the NorthEast - no place to open her up.

Tres magnifique!!This is what dreams are made of. What a car!! Unfortunately I will never own one but dreaming of one is free. 440K is way too ritzy for me. Bet he is not doing any upgrades on the engine.
0-60 3.9 top speed 205 not in NY.

Just noticed the center of the alloys has blue tint then a cylinder potruding with a yellow marking. That whole thing looks strange.

Awesome! It looks better here than in the press photos.

The yellow you see is the calipers. Blue is the wheel bolt, but on the other side of the car it is red.

Neat pictures.

Pilot2519j 05-16-2004 03:09 PM

The yellow I meant is in the wheel bolt. Must be the logo done in yellow. To remove the tires it must take a long torque wrench of some sort I imagine.

QporscheQ 05-16-2004 04:04 PM

The car comes with a special tool to remove the tires. The nuts require about 400 ft-lbs torque!!!! The tool has a 3x1 multiplier and is 2 feet long, so you need to put about 67 pounds on it.

So I guess the chances of coming out to your Carrera GT parked on the street and finding it on cinder blocks is pretty low.

Here's a closer look, same Carrera GT.

I have a few more I will post if you guys like. Keep checking the thread, can't do it for a day or two though.

Thanks for the compliments, all taken with the new Nikon D70 dSLR I just got recently. Fabulous camera BTW!

C - GT

Mike,

so your company must be doing good. There is an advertising company about 1/2 mile from my office. the parking lot has a '02 Twin Turbo, a 01 996-cab, and a Cayenne Trubo. I suspect a C-Gt will be ther soon.

I took over 200 photos at the Rennsport Reunion II in Daytona Beach FL, earlier this month; including around a dozen C-GT pics. The C-GT has an intense, but somewhat quiet rumble. My tongue was wagging everywhere....

the question (Mike or JT) is how do I post several photos? I have severla which I think readers of this board will enjoy.

Ed

I just pull the images from my .Mac account where I host them and put the URLs for each in the message here one after another.

Sorry, haven't had time to post any of the other pictures yet. I'll get to it though sometime here.

Yeah, the sound of the engine is awesome. Lovely!

I saw a silver one at my dealer the other day. Amazing vehicle. Looks better in black...wow....

Strange that you post this from Cali. My dealership had a black one...the first one in the country according to the service manager. It actually went to California, this was awhile ago though. It was at the dealership for some sort of press event or something.

My dealership is Porsche North Scottsdale just for reference.

The black C-GT is at McKenna Porche in Norwalk I beleive - saw it at an open house at the west coast Porsche distribution center last month. Awesome sound when rev'ed. Interestingly, I thought the front vent in the wheelwell was a design flaw in that debris from the wheels would chip paint like crazy.

ehljags 05-24-2004 05:21 PM

Jerry Seinfeld (actor/comedian) took delivery of the first C-Gt in the us. I haved heard there around 25-30 cars coming in to the US over the next 90 days.

Ahhh, money must be nice.....

QporscheQ 06-05-2004 03:42 PM

This black one (Basalt Black Metallic actually) is owned by PCNA. I bet we've all seen the same black one and it has just been shipped all over the country for show. Man it is awesome though. What is even cooler was that this GT was parked next to a '02 GT2, parked next to a 959, parked next to a Turbo S parked next to a Slantnose Turbo. It kind of made me feel really sorry for myself that all I had was a Boxster. :)
