My Custom LED Project
Hello all... I'm new here, but I wanted to share with you my custom LED project I have going on for my Box S.
My friend (who does this for a living) is making me custom LED sidemarkers and taillights. Here are pics of the completed sidemarkers.... they were taken apart, painted black inside, and retrofitted with two strips of LED's. The bottom row shines bright white LED's when ever the parking lamp is activiated (just like the current wiring configuration)... the top row blinks amber LED's when ever the blinker is activiated. The tail lights are being taken apart and retrofitted as we speak. They will be totally modified to resemble the BMW Z-8's horizontal parking/brake lights... I'm still debating if I want to blinkers to blink amber or red LED's. Furthermore, I'm changing out the license plate bulb/interior dome & footwell lighting and both trunk bulbs to bright white LED. Why? Because this is America and I can. If you guys have inquiries about the LED project (prices)... all I can do is give you my friend's e-mail address and website. I can't speak for him on how much he would charge others for this product. Sorry I can't be more of help... I'm assuming you can go to his website and see the costs of other models' sidemarkers/tails, and you can get an idea.
I am in no way affiliated with his company. I am merely a purchaser and admirer of his custom work. (his website has LED examples of other makes/models he has done) contact@clearcorners.com Clear Corners |
