You owned "the" 916, the real deal.
Hardtop 914???? Scott |
914 targa

Oh Okay, you said 916, there were so few. I was curious what it was like compared to the Karman 914.

Correction:
916 >> 914/6, big big difference. From what I understand, there were only 11 916s built, 1 supposedly shipped to Florida in 1972 and it was the only one shipped with A/C. Porsche never mass produced this car, such a shame. 190 hp and the car is only 2400 lbs, really wide 15x7 tires, solid top, wider body, bigger brakes and a 5 speed, I'm sure its a lot of fun. Dave |
That was my point, if you had the 916 I would of really like to have read about it.
I imagine you could of retired on what it's worth. Scott |
It would probably take Porsche to buy the car back or a vintage car museum. It probably would take a long time to sell it for what its worth to anyone else.
I would love to stumble across someone who had a rare Porsche sitting in a barn somewhere that just wants to get rid of it not knowing much about it. I have scored some nice rare VWs that way. Dave |
