Brake Pads
How do you know when it's time to replace the brake pads or have the rotors turned?
Thanks |
- when the Brake Wear light comes on on the dash.
Anyway, my Box had 40k miles on it when I got it, and the pads were almost on the wear sensors. About $110 and two hours of my time, and I had them swapped. The rotors should be fine, but next time I have to replace pads, I will go ahead and replace the rotors. If you want to gauge your rotors, here's the specs: Front rotors 24mm new 22mm worn Rear rotors 20mm new 18mm worn Basically, if your front rotor is less than 22mm, you'd need to replace it. 18mm for the rear. |
Here's a stupid question...
Does my 1999 have a "brake wear indicator" ? Thanks, Nick |
