Shifter cable adjustment tool
 

I need the tool that locks the shifter when adjusting cables. For the 986, of course since I am posting here.

This is the plastic tool that holds the shifter in the neutral position.

Assumed but never officially knew they made one for 9x6s...

If you can't find, I have one made for 9x7s. Worked fine when I transplanted a 9x7 base shifter into a 986. Most important is lateral alignment - which this does regardless 9x6 or 9x7 as housings are same. Fore / aft tweaks were almost spot on too but did require a small tweak as I recall (been a couple years but memory says shift was fine but aft throw was a tad long and required moving up one or two threads to keep from bumping full stop on 2nd or 4th).
