Anyone wants to sale his RMS installation tool?

I have one. Used it only once and don't think I will need it again. So its like new.

If that is the PEL-TOL-P250, it is not the right tool for the latest PTFE RMS.

so if i understand you correctly, you are saying it will not drive the seal to the appropriate depth of 14mm?

That is exactly the point, the newer PTFE seal's correct installed depth from the flywheel mating surface is 13MM, not 14MM. And because the PTFE can be cranky if it is not installed correctly, that small margin is important.

Excellence magazine did an in depth article on the new seal in 2010, and showed the two tools side by side, along with explaining why you cannot use the old tool with the new seal.

that is a little bit disappointing that Pelican Parts are still selling the old tool.

beside the depth, is there any other difference between the tools?
i mean, if the desired depth is 13mm and the "old" tool will drive the seal to 14, it should be pretty easy to alter to old tool to get to 13.

Yes, the insert guide (Porsche special tool 9699/2) that comes with the 9699 tool is specific to the PTFE seal. You could alter the set depth, but you would not have the guide to hold the PTFE seal correctly.

in other words you are saying the SIR tool is no better than the $4 PVC pipe that i used last time.

Basically, and the new tool is currently a Porsche only $500 item...........

I really want to put my hand on that tool.
Might pul the trigger on it, and add it to my IMS traveling kit. :)
