1999 2.5 engine + ancillaries
 

any interest out there in a 2.5 long block with ancillaries? approx 102k miles. engine suffered from failed heat exchanger and there was oil in the cooling system.

i drained the oil pan and found no traces of coolant in the oil. also pulled both heads and examined for cylinder sleeves cracks. no cracks found in the sleeves or cylinder heads. really looks to be an isolated case of a failed oil separator. the heads are pulled so you can examine them and the short block closely for any signs of damage.

comes with everything as directly dropped from the car, minus the ac compressor, AOS (which was shot) and of course oil separator (which failed.)

asking $1,000.

Where is the engine located? I am looking for a good long block to re-build as a spare for the 132,000 mile engine in my race car (its gonna fail someday and I want to have a spare ready).

i'm in souther california, tustin OC area.

the engine will be perfect for a rebuild/ refreshing. the case looks good and all the internals are likely in good shape. the scavenge pumps are good, water pump is relatively new, cam bearings all looked pretty good. it would be nice to split the case and give the internals a good looking over, but i imagine many of the primary parts, carrier, crank, IMS shaft will all be fine.
