For sale I have two brand new mint condition Michelin Pilot Sports in 225/40ZR18 ZR ( 225 40 18 ) combination. Located in Northern, Va. Like to sell locally if possible, might consider shipping as well. I was thinking 400 OBO

Please post pictures of the DOT code dates. How old are these tires?

Kianfar 06-29-2012 02:20 PM

I bought these less than a year ago, on August of 2011. The stamp says 08/11, but never even drove the car much after that to even install these. They've been sitting in my garage under a blanket, and since the car is sold, I have no use for them. :)

PM sent, just waiting on a response.

Post a pic, please. That's not how they are dated. Thanks.

jwade 06-30-2012 04:32 AM

The picture shows how they are dated. For example, the 5107 after the LMLR equates to the tire being manufactured in the 51st week of 2007.

Porsche does not like anyone to be driving on tires over 6 years old.

What your selling is what I had on my old 986 S and I loved them. GLWS!

Porsche stopped using the Pilot Sport (for the 987 Boxster) in early 2008 and moved to the PS2 platform.

:d sold!!!

Flavor 987S 07-21-2012 08:15 AM

Kianfar, you continue to evade the questions about the tire's DOT code dates? Why? What are you hiding??

Kianfar 07-21-2012 08:55 PM

Sorry, just haven't been on here lately after the sell of the vehicle. Just not to technical with these tires. Someone also asked on ebay, who is my top bidder. The DOT Number reads: DOT FCY0407

Well, your "buyer" is a complete idiot, then, because these tires are over 5 years old. They were manufactured in the 4 week of 2007. Your an idiot too, for evading the many questions here about the age of your tires. I guess eBay is a good place for selling your junk.

Reported for language! Such a shame, your mother and father didn't teach you how to speak in public. Maybe you didn't have one, which I'm sorry to say, it seems as though.

Let's play nicely together boys and girls. No need to flame on one another.

So, your parents taught you how to lie, cheat, and sell junk? Good for you.

So, Rich, you condone members here to sell junk tires? Interesting. He was asked what the codes dates were. And evaded the question. Posted bogus info. And then pretended not to be technical on tires, even when Member Jwade posted the link how to read a DOT code date.

Brucelee 07-24-2012 02:00 PM

I don't condone anything. I think you pointed out the issue that concerned you. What else is there to do?

So, we will close this thread now.

C'mon. let's move on.
