Hi Vince,

This is direct bolt on exhaust no fabrications, rear bumper removal are required for installation.

Thank you !

Install was pretty straight foward. Bumper doesn't have to be removed if you have universal sockets for top muffler mounts. The only problem I had was just the U-shaped pipes that were connected to the muffler. Even that wasn't too big of a thing. Just needed to use a little more strength to knock the pipes out. The connections were just a little tight. I guess it also helpped that I have my own auto repair shop, so lift and tools weren't too big of a thing. But can definitely be done at home.

Hey Mark, You're more than welcome to come see and hear it in person. The tips were a little off, but not too noticeable. Easy fix for a muffler shop. Freeway is a little on the loud side. Other than that, everything else so far is good. The reviews I been reading on the forum about these mufflers are pretty accurate. For the money, they are not bad. Now I can use the extra money saved on my suspension.

I'll vouch for this muffler. It sounds great, but does have a lot of drone between 2k-2.8k rpms. If you have a wife/gf who is not a fan of loud cars she wont ride with you. I have a hard time having conversations with passengers sitting next to me, and have to downshift and ride at 3k+ rpms to hear.

But i still love it

leon1965 01-25-2012 07:20 PM

I wanted to love it!

I bought it, installed ( easy and quick install for my 98 Boxster) it and I'm returning it. The SOUND is excellent, meaner, especially in lower rpm and louder - also a lot lighter than a stock.

What I hated is BOOM/DRONE/VIBRATION 2K-3K rpm. Unbearable and tiresome. My son was begging me "Dad, turn OFF that VROOM" when we were cruising at 2K to 3K. The more throttle in that rpm brackets, the more pronounced the vibration/boom had become.

Top Speed technician told me that this is suppose to change after I drove up to 300 miles...
I did 450 - hurting even more.
I have to add that I had also Top Speed Pro Headers (definitive improvement of the exhaust flow - you could feel when you are taking off, that the car rolls off easier ) installed before getting the muffler - maybe if I had stock headers, the boom/vibration wouldn't be that much of the problem. Nevertheless I put back my stock muffler, back to normal...
Expensive experiment.
