how much...
|
I'm looking for $1,800, as both the tires and wheels are in like-new condition.
|
Not bad, I have a set of wheels only for sale.
What did you replace them with?? |
I've got some Carrera S wheels which replaced the stock ones; funny how similar they are in the end! :)

I like your "not many options" comment.
Mine has Litronics, body color floor mats and painted wheel crests. It also is as light as you can get a 987. The 10 way power seats, alone, weigh several hundred pounds! Every option adds weight. If I wanted a luxury car, I would've bought a Mercedes!! |
width / weight
what's the wheel width f / r?
and idea how much the wheels weigh? I'm a 'weight weenie' ;-) but seriously, I am looking to take weight out of the car wherever possible as I'm transitioning it more to a track car...looking for a set of wheels for track use. though my kinesis wheels are very light...just not sure I want to beat them up (they're 8.5 / 10 x18's like Kurt's)... looks like he's in the same boat as me...once you spend any amount of time in something like a 1200 pound formula car you get really sensitive to weight! |
I might be killing my own wheel sale here, but the OZs and the Volk's at Tirerack were the lightest.
If I remember correctly the OZs in 18x8.5 were about 17 lb and the 18 x 10 was about 18.5. I weighed the stock rears we are talking about, in a cardboard wheel box and they were 27.5 lb., including the box that must be about 3 lb., judging from other boxes I buy and use all the time in my business. Also, if I remember correctly the forged Volk wheels were about 2 lb. ea. lighter than the OZ, but I wasn't wild about the style, or the price. I was really surprised how heavy the RS/GT BBS wheels are. They are about as heavy as the stock 987 S wheels and cost nearly 4 grand for the set, plus the rears need spacers. I went by Brumos with the car today and it was a big hit. The service manager and parts manager were looking at it together and they decided to knock 200 bucks off the labor and sell me the springs at cost to get the car 20mm closer to the ground, where it belongs!! I may have to take them up on it. Buddy, the parts manager, said he'd throw in a set of clear side marker lenses! OF course it helps to have been friends with Buddy for, let's see.........since 1974? |
Fuhrius - here are the wheel/tire sizes from my add.
