Wanted: Tool Kit
I have a 2002 Boxster and I bought it used at the beginning of the summer and I didn't realize I didn't get the normally included owner's toolkit until I started to have some problems this week. Does anyone know where I can purchase one inexpensively or any ideas what I can do to replace it?
Thanks, Jonathan |
"inexpensive" is not a word one can use when asking about genuine Porsche stuff, especially like owner's manuals and tool kits.
Sunset Porsche in Oregon (800) 346-0182 will probably be your least expensive source for the toolkit, which they'll order from Atlanta or Germany and forward to you. They charge just 15% over their hard cost to people ordering via telephone from out of state. eBay will also be another good source to find it less expensive, but call Sunset to get a price from them so you can judge if pre-owned or stolen is a better price than new. You definitely need a few things out of it if you don't buy the whole thing. The tow eye tool is one must-have in case you break down. Another is the headlamp removal tool. The aluminum bolt rod is another very handy thing to have that you can't replicate from your ratchet set... it allows you to hang the rim onto the hub so you can put the other bolts in and secure the rim. |
I have a brand new set in the leather bag casing. I'll PM you the details.
