a 2.7 NEW engine
 

I bought a 99 boxster from a friend that came with a new 2.7 engine. He bought the engine at a car show thinking it will fit his 99 boxster one day. It has the paper work from Porsche. After reading the posts here, a 2.5 to 2.7 swap is really not practical. Contact me at oldcar@hotmail.com if anyone is interested buying the engine or selling a boxster with a bad engine.

Out of curiousity, how much are you asking for the engine?? My 2.7 just blew a rod and is toast, and if the warranty company doesn't take care of me, I will need one. Is it brand new from Porsche or remanufactured from Porsche? Does it come with a Porsche warranty?

I believe it is a brand new not a rebuild one. Since the engine was purchased few years ago, I don't know if the warranty is still valid. I don't have a firm price yet. There are couple of used ones on ebay which are selling $5000 or more.
