Jeph's first AutoX

It was fun. My goal was to just go out there and see what my car can do and have a good time. But once I found out there was only one other car in my class, it became a challange to not come in last (2nd) place.

It was a C32 AMG that beat me. It shouldn't be this way. It was my first time!

Here's a weak video clip. This was probably my worst run, as my tires will tell you.

Hey man, good for you, that looks like alot of fun. I haven't AutoXed yet, as I'm adverse to helmet-hair and I find a head-sock unbecoming.

First-time or not, I don't see much shame in coming in behind a car that has 120 more h.p. than you and big ************************ tires.

Off-subject, have you actually ever driven your car with the top-down? All your pics (which I enjoy) seem to be with the hard-top on...albeit a nice look.

The AMG beat me by .507 of a second, and was an AutoX veteran (I have TONS of excuses for losing).

Funny you noticed the top always up... I'm a red-head = easily burnt! The hardtop is on 90% of the time. I love the way it looks. I'm not really a convertible kind-a guy despite the fact I own a Boxster.

Hey Jeph, you drive a lot better than you dance! Those other videos are very revealing. Is Regina your girlfriend? She's prettier than your car!

One more thing... how much of that new rubber did you burn off autoxing? Can you see noticeable wear?

Hi Jeph...after looking at the pictures I think you would have won had you not removed the hardtop in the middle of the timed event!

I did 4 laps -less than a minute each. The lap on video was the loudest, but from eyeballing it, it didn't look bad. That is, I didn't really notice tire wear -just a little roughness on the edges (where the tread never touched the pavement before).

Randall, you're meddling! Nobody mocks my dancing! Ah Regina... sweet Regina -loads of fun! She's miles prettier than my car! I must sadly inform you she is not my girlfriend. That bird escaped somehow.

ford40, you're right. I was just a little overconfident in thinking I could remove the hardtop and STILL beat him.

Your driving is FAR BETTER than your dancing, my friend. At least the driving vid didn't make me laugh out loud.

Stick with what you're good at, that's what I always say.

Jeph, I just spent an hour watching those videos. I have no life.

Good to see you did an AutoX...I did one and shredded my tires...my technique obviously sucks.

Clearly you can see I have NO shame. And yes, I posted it on google for others enjoyment... It at least made you laugh, right? If I told you a story about how I danced awkwardly with this girl, in no way would you be amused. But having witnessed it... it's a whole other story.

Rail26, Great to have you back!

I can always count on you to check up on my OCD (one of them anyway).
I've scrapped the plastic cups and moved on to a small trashcan-like container.

It doesn't look like it from the picture, but there are a lot of caps in there! I'll have to count them one of these days.
