Smile Track day... Chasing down a Corvette

This is at Putnam Park in Mt. Meridian, Indiana. (My "home track.") Enjoy.

Enjoyed your video. Once owned Miata so fun to see you pass. Best friend has C6. Always happy to see Porsche pass ANY Vette.

Curious about top down. Closest track to me is Hallett outside Tulsa. They require top up with windows down. Much rather go topless!

Nice. Very smooth steering inputs.

Ahh Corvettes. For all that power it has under the hood, it can't corner for trash. I respect American muscle cars on the straightaways, but that's why I prefer almost anything else over domestic cars. They can't corner.

Putnam lets the organization renting the track set the rules. The local PCA chapter requires convertibles to have the top up.

The group I was running with this weekend allows top-down driving but "recommends" a rollbar that will pass the broomstick test. They don't enforce it though. There were even a couple of cars without roll hoops running top down. (M3 vert and a 911 Cabriolet.) It was 100 degrees out, though, so that may have been why they were letting everybody run top-down, roll hoops or not.

Very cool. Never tracked a car myself but this looks fun. And you have the proper color.
