Porsche 996 GT3 vs BMW M3 E46

Porsche 996 GT3 vs BMW M3 E46 The top end on the GT3 is awesome.

No surprises there. The GT3 has about a 50 hp advantage and weighs a few hundred less. I'm honestly shocked the M3 kept up as well as it did.

I was gonna say that the m3 is either moded or the guy in the gt3 wasn't goin all out. I raced an m3 on the highway and kept up with him and ended up a few feet in front from 70-130. M3s are fast off the line, but loose some of their gusto later on

Are you sure you raced a 333 hp E46 M3? Those things should easily beat a 986 S from 70-130 by several car lenghs. I drove one and it would kill my Boxster S on the highway.

It was def. an e46 m3. I dunno why it happened the way it did, but it did seem that his gears were a lot longer higher up.

I would say the exact same thing as you if I heard someone say it, but I saw what I saw....Maybe he wasn't going to the red line?

If I had a GT3 and was run somewhat even by an M3, I would be wondering what happened. Those are pretty different cars. I would think the GT3 would hammer him pretty badly.

I believe you, I just asked because sometimes people mistake the older M3's for the E46.
Sometimes the car that should win doesn't always due to several variables like missed shifts, starting in the wrong gear, passengers in the car ect ect. Speaking of M3's I walked by a brand new one the other day parked in town. Those things are pretty slick...epecially the interior. The exterior was pretty nice as well, but in some ways I like way the way the E46 looks better.
