New to forum - have questions

Hello All!

I am new to the 986 forums and have found them to be extremely useful in educating myself about my new ride. I've browsed a few other sites about the Boxster, but found this one to be my favorite.

I do have a couple of forum-specific questions, however...

First, why do the postings in the forums go backwards? What I mean is that if 15 people respond to a post, the 15th response is the first one you see if you click on the topic. You have to scroll to the bottom of the page and read upwards. In my newcomer opinion, this seems backwards, and is a little strange when trying to search the forums for old topics that answer my new (to me) questions. It's especially strange when the topic goes on for two or more pages.

Second, why do links never seem to work for me in the forums? It seems like when other users post links, it shows up with [url/www.blahblahblah.com/url] or something like that. If I want to check out thier link, I have to copy it and paste it into the address bar.

Is there a setting somewhere on IE or on the forum controls that could help me change these views when I'm browsing here?

Thanks - and great forum, other than these two little things!!

Kelly

Got to upper right hand corner under display mode and select linear mode, or from quick links, edit options and select under threads linear mode - oldest first.

not sure about hyperlink, let me try by just pressing the globe icon above.

edit:guess that did not work ;-)

welcome aboard anyway

It appears that hybrid mode is closest to how I'd like to see it. Thanks for the help!
