Louvre update

So while desnorkeling my car I broke one of the tabs that helps to hold the louvre into place. One phone call to Sunset and $8 later I had a new redesigned one. Anyone know the reasoning behind the connecting of the two lower fins?

Garage
Redesigned to help prevent cigarette butts and water from entering the intake. In conjunction with the louvre change, they also added a cup/scoop at the end of the snorkel tube that runs up to the height of those two connecting lower fins. Since you removed the snorkel, the new louvre design with the connected fins doesn't really help.

Do they only come in black or do they have them to match your color?

Is the left-most tab the redesigned one? It is different than the other three.
I also assume the tab was $8, not a new grille with the tab. Would that be correct?
I broke one too, removing the right side grille to clean behind it. Haven't replaced it yet.

The whole louvre assembly was $8. The picture I posted was of the driver side louvre. The passenger side stayed the same.
