Finally bought new Rotors!
 

Im happy and dieing from anticipation! I bought these

I called them and negociated the price with shipping from $348.80 to $330 even for a set of Zimmerman Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors. Here are the features they have:

"Longer rotors life
Prevent fadding
Prevent Wraping
Reduce stopping distance
Better stopping power under-wet condition
CNC machined for precision and balance
Zinc plated to prevent rust
holes are chamfered

3/16 holes much stronger over other company 1/4 holes" --ebay seller

I heard cross-drilled rotors wear faster then the stock ones,so I don't know if their statement is true.

$300 for all four rotors? Now that's a steal,********************************AZ sells just the cross-drilled(not slotted) for $450 for all four.

Yeah i dont know if that statement is entirely true or not but the price is good and I have had experience with Cross Drilled + slotted rotor and wouldnt think of buying only C-D or only Slotted. They previous ones I've bought for my heavey 300zx TT were brembo C-D and Slotted and never cracked or warped for the entire 3 years i punished the brakes. I hope these are up to brembo par, if not its ok cause i dont abuse my Porsche nearly as much as i did the 300zx TT.

Do keep us posted on your useage of these Carlos, I am thinking of doing the same in the future to my '02 Boxcar. I had the Zimmerman drilled only from Vertex on my '83911SC and never had a problem. I have seen a set of drilled that fractured in track use and had assumed the shape of a lock washer. Don't know what happend to the car or driver but the rotor was presented at a Tech. Tactics seminar a few years back.

If the hats on those rotors aren't treated with anything or painted, are you planning to do it?

Are you gonna do the pads at the same time? If not it isnt the best... Odds are your pads will have grooves in them and will need to be replaced in a while anyway. The grooves could either wear away your new rotors prematurely and groove them or give you sub optimal braking until the pads wear down flat again. Depending on how aggresive the pad is, how hard the rotor is, ect...
Im gonna get new pads, rotors, hardware, and stainless steel brake lines when I do my brakes in however long it takes to run the front pads down to a "need to be replaced" thickness. And will flush the brake lines and put new fluid in there. Might as well only mess with it once. I am probably going to buy those same rotors, but with porterfield pads. I will of course paint the hat... Gold. And re paint my calipers green. Gold for the honey, green for the money :pimp smiley guy:

The rotors are Zinc plated so no need to painted them or treat them :D

What it plan on doing (since i installed the pads about 1 months ago) Ill sand them down afew millimeters with a block of sandpaper then reinstall them and take it easy on them the first 50 miles. I MIIIIIGHT replace them with a low dust alternative but that depends... on money of course.

Carlos thats a hell of a deal you got. I'd be will to buy a set just to have a set ready when mine go out. Do you think you can snag another set for the same price?

Here they are and they are great. The hats are zinc plated and wont rust. I haven't had any problems.

Damn those look hot! Your making my anticipation worse ;) . Hey i think i remember you posting images after the install and i recommended that you flip the rotors over to the propper direction for better stopping and gas release.

i notice that your images of your rotors are after they were newly installed, How do they look now? has the inside of the rotor (between the 2 surface areas) rusted at all? or is that zinc plated also.

The pics that I posted were taken last weekend. They look just like they did when I got them. Everywhere except where the pads touch should stay the silver color [zinc plated] its very nice.

Your Boxster looks great. I also installed Zimmerman drilled rotors, my hats are painted black. I didn't order them painted black, they just came that way. My car is black so it looks great. I just sent my calipars out to a company in NJ called Power Tech to have them cleaned,tuned up and painted red. Can I ask you? what size rims are you running onyour car? they look great.
