i guess ill show what i painted today

i also ordered silver porsche caliper decals (i will be putting another coat of red, the decals, and then clear) http://i11.tinypic.com/448r4no.jpg |
hey thats pretty cool. i like the silver vents on your colour. not too many cars can you paint them silver. they match well with the rims, very subtle.
|
How did you paint your calipers? Spray or brush? Left on the rotors, or removed?
|
i left the calipers on the rotors, and i used the brush, so theres a lot more control when compared to spray can.
i will take better pics when my decals come in and i can show off the complete project :) and color on the vents is like 90% the same as the wheels so thats a good thing |
Those red calipers almost take my eyes away from the amber, lol, j/k. I wish I could get the initiative up to paint mine again. Maybe next time I take my wheels off. Nice vents, I was thinking of what color would look good on black, nothing I presume, excpet GOLD! lol

gold for the honey, or green for the money :)

FYI.
I was passing some time last week at the Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, IL last week during an errand. And I notice a new (2006 or 2007) Carrera in their new car inventory that had "Red Painted Calipers" listed in the exclusive options area on the window sticker. Porsche was charging over $1,600 for this "option" on a $90K car! Amazing. |
i would assume they are powdercoated, but painted?
it cost me like 5 bux to do mine |

I seen a Boxster same color combo as yours and he had his painted sort of a powder coat grey, matched up with his interior real well. Just a thought -cheers  |
