19 inch wheels

Thanks I just ordered 19's and wanted to see what it looked like, my car is lowered 1'. Is yours? And how does is handle with the 19's.

David_J 10-12-2006 02:21 PM

Mine is lowered, not sure exactly the amount but approximately an inch or so. I never measured before and after the coilover installation.

The ride quality is not too bad. I did the wheels and tires before the suspension and there was not a huge difference between the stock ride quality. You just need to watch out for road hazards.

My Denali has 22s on it, so I was already use to a little stiffer ride and the caution you have to take when driving.

19's

Thanks for the feed back and just wanted to say your car looks really good!

Damn David, I hate when you post pictures of that thing! It's so sweet I can't stand it!

P.S. Here's what one looks like with 19s when you are whipped and your wife won't let you lower it.

19's

How does yours handle compared to the stock rims. I have 17's now but it is lowerwed. I was wondering if it isn't going to handle as well with the 19's.

Dave,

What kind of rims do you have mounted? Mikey Likey. Rims or save up for the '07 Box....hmmmm....life is so tough.

i love the ssr gt3 rims......

i have driven my car with 17z lowered and 19z lowered. i don't see any difference other then having to watch what i drive over. but i'm sure that if
i had nice 17z i would do the same.

handling with 19z lowered 1 inch....amazing handling....far better then 17z lowered.

looks, i could of probably put 20z on the car, but the porsche race team down the street would of killed me. on the 986 the biggest that you can go is 19. the bigger rims as everyone here says takes away from the looks of the car. not true...the 19z just make the car look more mean and gives it a totally different look.

if i had the new 987 id put 20z for sure. most of the porsche mags have 997s and 987s sitting on 20z.

**************** sorry i forgot to post a pic of 19z...i was watching the leafs vs. new jersey in overtime wow what a game..................

Boxter 10-12-2006 06:15 PM

I have spoken about this recently here but I do love the handling and appearance of my 19" rims even at the stock height...it would be nice to lower it a bit but I have no current plans to do this at the moment.

Good luck with your new set up!
