Nice looking car, looks like quite the suspension project there.'

May i ask what the 2 black knobs are on your steering wheel?, they look like maybe bluetooth remotes?....

Please and thank you.

DONE:dance:
4 new wheel bearings, 4 new struts, all new control arms, all new radius links, all new tie rods, all new sway bushings and sway bar links. Good for another 100K miles

I really can't think of any thing I would do different. A couple of things I learned, There is no castor adjustment on this car. No matter how close you measure the steering tie rods old you still got an off center steering wheel. I'm not sure my marks and camber adjustments are very good either. Its off to the alignment shop.

I am a mechanical engineer by trade and a pretty good shade tree mechanic and I tell you this to give weight to the next piece of data.

With a good set of tools this job took me 27 hours:D.

Its been about a year or so since I've had a Porsche on the rack, but if I recall correctly the rear point of attachment on the front LCA is positioned so you can adjust castor.

Your alignment guy should be able to adjust it regardless.

Lots of shops stray away from working on exotics like this car, but when I had to put a new rack in I found it really easy even compared to typical cars (IE Camry).

Wait! Is no one going to state the obvious question?

:)It is purple and red?

jmitro 07-13-2019 04:07 PM

LOL kinda what I was wondering.

It is purple and red.....Woman that owned it had it repainted. Was silver. Grey interior is original.. One day I am going to repaint the red trim a flat black. Meanwhile I get a lot of looks.

I think painting the red to black would be really nice. Or, paint them all the body color.

I like the exterior color combo for an early 986. It screams 1990ties.
