Thanks Bruce. Yesterday evening I assessed progress and decided to take something else to the Rallysprint. My new target date to complete the Frog is mid April when I can test it at a nearby SCCA Autocross. I realized that rushing the work, then driving it competitively before taking time to test it and sort it out is a bad idea.
My choices for the Rallysprint? I have a wrecked Camry Hybrid that's actually pretty good with the ABS fuse pulled. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9c672b99_b.jpg Or my '04 parts car. It should be good if I bolt a few body parts back on and put a new water pump in. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0854def1_b.jpg |

Not only is Jon a master shade tree mechanic and a heck of a great guy, but his attention to detail in prepping a car to race is without equal.
After he pitted at the end of the race above, I wanted to get a better look at the fender stripes I noticed that he had applied to the black car - two perfect shades of gray to compliment the sleek black racer. We both had a good laugh as I checked them out and complimented him on his artistry, when he admitted with a grin on his face they were from two different rolls of duct tape. :D |
I finally had the Parts Car together and running right. I has sold all the plastics from the front to spec Boxster guys, so it was all scraps, screws and duct tape holding it on ( I had some extra tape after the bumper so...). Just before loading the trailer and heading out I saw that the Rallysprint is cancelled due to forecast storms. Rescheduled for late May. Still considering SCCA Rallycross tomorrow if they don't cancel, but thinking a weekend at home with family might be nice now.
