z12358, I have 2 comments one 1 question!

Car looks great! Love the stone wall. And, how fast have you taken the curve in the background pictures?? :D

Don't know. Had to look out for the "DANGER" ahead.

I thought triple-black means "black exterior, black interior, black wheels"...?

I think triple Black means black paint, black top and black leather. Black wheels would mean QuadBlack!! :)

Z, are you bothered by the fact that the 07 987S's will have a 3.4 liter in them? Was this a factor in your decision to buy an 06?

Just wondering. Putting myself in your place, I'd be pissed that for similar money I could have gotten a larger engine.

They aren't jacking the prices up for the 07 S's?

another .2 in your displacement isn't very dramatic. I doubt an xtra 20 ponies would reinvent a car. When excellence reviewed the 987 SPortec with the 3.8 engine they felt the chasis could have handled a heck of allot more. Sounds to me like they weren't blown away.

Put 450 HP in the car and then you'll see a whole different Boxster.

Randall, I try not to be bothered by hypotheticals. Life's too short. Fact is that the news wasn't out yet when I bought my 06 (mid-May). I would have preferred (and paid more for) the 3.4L engine if it was available but in retrospect I would have still done the same (bought the 06) even if I knew about the engine increase.
Reasons:
1. Time is $. Didn't want to miss this summer without the S. (And boy am I happy for not missing it!) What good is a 3.4L coming to me in October only to be sitting stored for the winter?
2. The discount I got for the 06 off the lot was very enticing -- probably not even close to the price I'd have to pay if I ordered an 07.
3. We're only talking about 15hp (5.2%) power increase.

Then Porsche either has to jack up the Boxster above the current 911TT $130k+ or bring the 911TT down to $70k and only jack the Boxster to $75k. Then all will be right in the universe. :)
