Summer Road Trip 2017

Here are some photos of our 4,533.8 mile tour of the Southwest in our 2004 Boxster 50 years of 550 Spyder Edition. Many thanks to Jake Raby & Flat 6 Innovations for their IMS Solution and other preventative parts that gave us the peace of mind to pass RVs at 8,000 feet in 109 degree temps at full throttle while weighed down with two big people and two trunks full of luggage. Also, thanks to Driven Motor Oil and their DT40 product. The ole girl never missed a beat.

I'm jealous. I'm scared to take mine more than an hour away.

LOL, that was only an hour and a half away. I was feeling brave. I did drive it up to Dallas once though. Only about an 8 hour trip.

What a great trip! Those pictures bring back a lot of memories. I just did a two-week, 2400 mile one-way meandering trip from Denver to Phoenix, with stops at five national parks and monuments in three states, and whatever else along the way. Only problem was, I did it in a rental Chevy Cruz. After I get the IMS done in my '02 S, we're planning a West Coast trip from the Canadian Border to the Mexican Border. That is supposed to happen next year. Cross your fingers!

Thanks for posting the pictures at your stops along the way. I have a 2001 S and planning a trip from South of Tucson, AZ to Grayslake, IL for a 50 yr Reunion. I think it'll be about 3500 miles RT. It'll give me a chance to get on Route 66 a few times. Have to put in a new clutch before the trip and we'll look at the IMS while in there.

BTW - Did you ever have to put your top up?
