Thinking of selling my 2004 Boxster 550 SE, #7 of 1953, charcoal interior, ~ 34,000 miles, 6 speed, second owner, great condition. I once read that the first ten models in this series were used for promotional purposes including at the Paris Auto show where they were first introduced. Any interest out there?

TIL: Option code XLA

In researching option codes specifically for the 550 Anniversary, today I learned that it was possible to order the "unique" exhaust from the 550 Anniversary on other Boxsters by ordering option code XLA "Polished stainless steel exhaust end". I happened across this option on this base 2004 Boxster sold on BaT two years ago. The pictures of the rear of the car show the Anniversary exhaust outlet and the build sticker under the hood shows option XLA.

Here is the link to the auction. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-porsche-boxster-21/

I have seen the Anniversary exhaust outlet on at least one other 2004 Boxster S listed for sale online and always assumed they somehow managed to get one from a salvage car or otherwise. I didn't know option XLA was available for all Boxsters. Curious now as to if it was limited to 2004 Boxsters only. Anyone know?

Picked up one a few weeks ago.
#0703 with about 45,000 miles.

Previous owner did LN IMS bearing replacement, RMS, Water pump,Pulleys and belt, AOS, along with basic service stuff.

All stock aside from new PCCM, but I did get the original stereo unit and the 6 CD charger is still in the trunk.

Very clean for a 20 year car. Had to replace a couple of plastic bits under the front bumper where someone got too close to a curb parking. Also had to repair the headlamp washers. They are more like lawn sprinklers than windshield washers.

Having a blast with it. I had a 99 base with triptronic years ago, but sold it when we had a kid. Now the kid is 14 and had a chance to get this one. It’s a better car all around. Brakes, power, manual 6-speed, glass rear window, interior, suspension, wheels, heated seats, PSM…plus the color scheme and being just a little bit special.
