No, glad that's all it was. Again, just super work on the car. I hope to see it again sometime, maybe in Panorama or eBrake News.

Both thumbs up!

That looks great.
I notice that the prototype has a cool looking Porsche logo behind the front wheel -
it's always too small to see properly - anyone have a good shot of it?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1461939981.jpg

i'm very impressed. i really like the tail lights. further, i think you would have a market if you wanted to sell that clamshell - i would buy one for example!

Thanks for your honest comments, the louvers have been the most controversial part of my build. A good friend of mine doesn't like them either.(I have an idea to paint the original side vents gloss black and do the louvers inside the same gold as the wheels)
As for the leather, I used Leather Refinishing technology dye,(leatherrefinishingtech.com) I do Interior repair and paintless dent repair as my profession. If you PM me I'll describe the process, its fairly involved, but the main factor in ending up with a good redye is starting with good leather. If your seats are dried out and all cracked up all the dye in the world cant fix that. But done right with the right product Redyes can be as good as original. (i changed the shifter boot from black to red and its holding up well)
I never gave the amber thing much thought, many of my choices were financially motivated The car came with one amber headlamp, and one broken light(see pic) a friend sold me the pair on the car for $300, I could'nt resist( for some reason Boxster prices haven,t exactly kept up with 911 prices, so i tried to do this build without getting too upside down)

I also love the wheels! Thanks for sharing.[/QUOTE]http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1461972038.jpg

Thanks! I made a mold of them but I'm not set up for manufacturing them.

Very cool. Neat to see you chased an idea and pulled it off. It's beautiful.

cbadbox 04-30-2016 06:16 AM

Impressive, clean lines, looks great!

Nice Job! Interior & front bumper are awesome.

jlindsey86 05-23-2016 07:35 PM

I want that bumper! How is the cooling?

Luv2Box 05-24-2016 05:35 AM

Beautiful car and a well done conversion. Since you work in fiberglass here is a thought, the Spyder humps, that can be bought for the 986 cause a vision issue on the passenger side, for the driver when changing lanes. I'd like a single hump on the driver's side and flat on the passenger side like the old 550 and 718 Porsches had. It could be made the same as the OEM (a little red leather pad on the hump side though) and a flat passenger side that comes apart for storage.

So far so good, I had it out the other day in 90 degree heat and drove an hour with the a/c on just to test it before making the 8 hour drive to the parade!

914racer 05-30-2016 06:30 AM

Thanks for those, I especially like the tortoise shell Boxster logo

Looks great! I sold a set of those wheels way too cheap many, many years ago...still miss them!

If you can find one, try adding the sport package trunk lid without the additional spoiler attached to visually clean up the rear end (removes the third brake light and pop up spoiler hump).

tightbox 06-02-2016 08:36 AM

...while I've got photoshop open - how about a Z8 inspired taillight treatment as well?

That's encouraging! I love the sleekness of the bumper. The boxster concept is one of my favorite cars and you've done a great job brining the production model back to the original design concept. Any thoughts on producing these parts?

914racer 06-06-2016 05:11 PM

Regarding the speedster humps, It could be done, probably easiest way would be to cut off passenger hump and refiberglass it flat.
