2002 986S in CT

Hello everyone,
Just joined and wanted to share.

I haven't taken any decent pics of the car yet, but I promise there will be some.

Picked it up Friday. 2002 Boxster S, 6spd, with hard top and Nav, 92k miles. Relatively clean, and very fun to drive.

My first question: is there a market for the nav system? I'd like to sell it, and possibly get the cupholders from a non-nav car. Shoot me offers if you want it! Changer included.

-Andrew

Don't be so quick to change just to get those over engineered cup holders.
There fine for small bottles of water that you keep the cap tighten on. Other wise they spill all over your console

speaking from experience

I know nothing of the value of the Nav system. I have heard they are not easy to update the maps

Oh no, the intent is not solely for the cup holders - In fact I may just put pockets in the open spaces. The main reason is that I am a stereo guy, and I have ideas/plans that don't involve the nav unit

With the right stereo, these cars can sound extremely good. Lots of threads on here to help give you ideas and/or technical help if you need some.

I pulled my front latch panel off, and noticed the soft rubber on the outside where it meets the headlights was crumbling. I trimmed it nicely but now there is a gap, and it makes a whistling noise past 65. Oops.

There are a couple threads about it on Ferrari Chat.

Any time the weather has been nice, and I go, there have been at least 10 cars. Most Sunday's lately have been pretty busy for me, so I haven't been in a while.

Today is the car's 2 year anniversary!

11,601 Miles
539 Gallons of fuel (20.52 mpg)
$1997.84 in maintenance costs. ($2.73/day)

Not too bad.
