What about the center oil cooler?? Looks like there is a cutout there, but it isn't removed. Is the GT3 bumper car a S?

Looks good but I don't know 986s that well so to me I couldn't even tell it was different, at first. I guess that just goes to show how natural that looks on the car. :)

Tri GEm, any clearance issues driving with the lip spoiler on the road. That GT3 bumper sits low to begin with and the lip spoiler leaves maybe four inches?

On the road no, no issues....Driveways Ehhh big problem...I basically have to parallel park in order to go up driveways...As far as clearance in inches...about 3 and 1/4 inches.....and im being generous

I will update once I drive it more…Ive only driven it one day really and that was to the OC PCA meeting last Saturday and it only scraped once and it wasn’t bad

Might have to make some adjustments on the suspension :(

Cali is one thing... I don't think I could put that thing on in Pittsburgh. My stock bumper at stock height is bad enough around here.

Yeah for the most part Cali roads are not that bad thank goodness....

A guy at my PCA has the GT3 with the MK2 lip spoiler aka air splitter and on this section of a popular autocross venue the lip digs into the ground hard making a "hair on the back of your neck stand up" tearing sound.

He dont' care!

TriGem2k 03-08-2006 09:29 PM

yeah its a pretty nasty sound....but u know what better the lip than the bumper itself....Lip is only $85 to replace thats the way i look at it.

Will a 2004 GT3 bumper fit on our boxsters? My friend knows someone that is selling one, but I need to know if it will fit. Anyone? Thanks.

Perfectlap 03-11-2006 07:16 PM

only if you spent another $5,000 to change the headlights, fenders and wiring for the healdights. It has been done to Boxsters that have been totalled in a front impact.

Allot of guys with the 1999-2001 911 do this its called a "face lift". Makes sense since if you can find used parts, it will helps sell the car.

p.s.
TriGem get some bumper plugs for that thing already!
some use the trunk carpet interior fasteners (Home Depot or pepboys), sanded and painted with touch up paint.

Why do i need to change the fenders to use the turbo headlights?

Perfectlap 04-14-2006 08:11 AM

our Fried egg headlights and the Turbo headlights are completely different shapes, thus the opening for the headlights are different shapes as well.
