Just bought my first Porsche in Austin last week and had an amazing drive back to Boulder Colorado. Lovely car :)

Nice looking Boxster!!

I got mine a little over a month ago and the first weekend we went on a trip from San Diego to Phoenix. My face still hurts from grinning. I was amazed at how comfortable it was on a 6 hour drive, and lets not forget about performance!!

Thanks and congrats, I had "perma grin" for the whole drive back (and honestly still do). I took two lane roads all the way back and in TX they are all 70-75mph undulating and deserted, like a noob I did the whole trip with the top down and was amazed by the calmness in the cockpit even at highish speeds, not fatiguing at all. I live in the mountains in Co. and my local roads are better still and the car is just about perfect... unfortunately it is snowing at the moment so she'll have to stay tucked away for the next couple days... ahh, springtime in Colorado...

Thanks, it's pretty common now but the Biarritz White with Terra Cotta was a special order in 2001 (according to the window sticker) so I feel pretty lucky to have found it :)

Just noticed your Donzi 18 Classic with a big block Ford, you need to PM me a picture of that. I have been looking for an 18 for years now! These days BBC and a Bravo 1 seems to be the best choice but yours really is a "classic" :)

Thanks Chronohunter! It is an unrestored 1970 18 2+3 with the original 351W Holman Moody Ford and HM-Volvo 250 Aquamatic. We are very proud of it. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1399949681.jpg

Nice!
FYI there's a PCA Autocross event this weekend at the Front Range Airport (east I70).
That would be another great way to welcome your Boxster to Colorado. I'll likely be there on Sunday.

Thanks for the invite, I can't make it this Sunday but perhaps sometime this Summer :)

Thanks, I finding out as I get more familiar with my purchase that the car has some cool options and mods. I got the car with 46K miles at a very good price and now discovering my deal was even better than I thought :)

Litronic (low beams)
Pioneer rear speakers (I have upgraded again further to gain bluetooth and more with a Kenwood 998 HU and will also upgrade the door speakers for more bass)
mid pipe cat delete
Pedros exhaust mod (sounds fantastic)
ROW M303 suspension
LN IMS bearing replacement

I am going to do a front motor mount (already have the new one) when I get a day off and I also added the necessary for Colorado seat heaters (a PITA and my guy is still trying to get the factory switches to work)

Overall just a great car, with a lovely driving experience especially on my canyon roads where I live, that raspy exhaust note reverberating off the cliff sides as I finally get to live out my Le Mans 917 fantasies (grinning like an idiot!):D

Nice looking car enjoy the canyons. I've never heard of someone adding seat heater interested in how that goes.

Thanks, the seat heaters are in and working, you do have to remove the seats and pull of the seat covers to install them, I am lucky to have a talented custom stereo guy as a good friend. He has installed heaters many times in all types of high end cars. The issue is that the factory switches are momentary switches so the require a special type of relay to work (which he has had to order.) I have them working now with the aftermarket switches but I want the factory ones of course!

I love those wheels on that color combo!

Chronohunter 05-21-2014 12:30 PM

Thanks, always been my favorite and so happy to find one I could afford in that combo :)

Wilson01S 05-22-2014 07:42 AM

What wheels are those? Carrera lights?
