Office with a view...

I've just moved offices at work, and I couldn't be more excited! I have quite a view, for now I can keep my eye on it 12 hours a day!

(And Rail26, before ask, I have not found a good location for the cup-o-caps.)

Jeph, 12 hours a day...you're slacking dude!

Nice office...and view. Now make sure you ask Santa for a top cover to protect that fine car from the Dallas sun.

you need a sun visor for your dash and seats.
I would go out there with a can of paint and some stencils: RESERVED PARKING
no one parking to to your left is key!

Ah yes, you are correct. Having no one to the left is key. But notice how much I am hugging the curb. (Nevertheless, look how the car to the right is hugging the line!)

I know a Carrera owner who keeps two large traffic cones in his trunk and when parking it on the street puts one on each side of the car.
btw, is your desk always that neat?
my father always used to say "never trust a guy with too tidy a desk, he's probably slacking while your working".

No, no, no, I am wrong. It's better to have some one parking on your left, as opposed to the right (at a place of business anyway). If some one parks to your right (in the US), the driver's side door will open -and there is a chance of contact. If some one parks to your left, there is a good chance that there will be no passenger, thus no chance of door contact.

And bmussatti, no need for a top cover with the hardtop always on. In addition to that, I don't drive the Porsche to work all that often. As for getting the person fired... uh, that may not be too easy. Ya see, both those spots are for "visitors" -whatever that means. (I don't live here, therefor I am a visitor.)

I have entertained the idea of cone useage. But I was thinking of putting a cone in my parking spot when I leave for lunch so no one takes it while I'm gone. That idea always makes me laugh.

We're about to move and I took the office without a window so my wife could have the only window office in the suite.

It's a good thing I don't drive the Boxster to work often with this change. But, this thread has me thinking...

I'm gonna rig a wireless web cam in my garage so I can watch my car online no matter where I am. <-- wife will say I need counseling for sure now.

I don't know if the whole cone thing is a good idea. To me it's kind of like taking two parking spaces up. It may invite vandalism. If people see that you are being excessivley cautious with your car, then they are more likely to "teach that Porsche A-hole a lesson" and screw with it. Just my .02 I bet people give that guy a weird look when he pulls a couple cones out of his trunk lol.

well he's a 6'-6" former 2nd string NFL football player so I doubt they stare at him too long. He usually parks it in front of the men's Clothing store he owns.

I agree the cones really aren't a detterent to dings as much as loudspeaker: expensive car right here, please key my doors.
