Thank you so much for posting your pictures of the seats. This is very helpful and I think you should send those pictures to leatherseats.com so they can send them to potential customers. They did not have that sample pic for a 986 when I wrote them.

Great suggestion. I emailed the pics to the LeatherSeats.com representative who helped me.

I really digging two tone, I'll think I'll see if they can send me a swatch. I'm not sure if I could get away with a colored crest though, my ride is a bit more stock, but it would be cool if they could emboss the leather with a Porsche logo though.

Pretty sure they can put anything you want for a logo. PORSCHE or BOXSTER would be pretty cool too!

I also emailed your pics to Tim at Leatherseats.com and asked for a quote. Very exciting. Now if I can talk my wife into the two tone. She is leaning towards black due to the color not being 100% the same. I really like the quality of the seats and I really appreciate you sharing your journey with us.

Wow yours is the only other 986 I've every seen with the full burl wood trim like mines!
My car is black with gray interior.
I like yours better!
Nice job Doc!!

Hey SF-Rockster,

Love the Wood. If you EVER decide you want to sell any of the wood pieces, let me know. I would totally be interested in certain pieces.

Great looking car!

Doc, can I ask the model/brand of your replacement head unit? I think mine is busted and looking to replace it. Thanks!

Those headlights look fantastic! Are those the $1,000 ebay ones? They look almost identical to mine, I actually like them better with the LEDs. Most people would have to have this sitting next to a 987 to tell it's a 986. Great job!

That's bananas Doc! Now that's dedication! Nice results, though ;)

what?!? You dropped $23,430 on this project?

that's.... uh.... let's just say you could have bought a low mileage 987 for that.... won't say how I know, but I own a low mileage (50,000 miles) 987 :D

it's beautiful, but two boxsters are better than one, right? especially when one is the newer model?

Yeah, but he has something that is original to him.
I understand because I'm going down this same route.

Is that an oem rear spoiler or the one sold on eBay. I am getting a gt3 bumper, already have skirts and am thinking about the wing now.

A low mileage 987 won't win him any awards like he posted either

True, I did spend quite a lot for the project. But its something I've always wanted to do. I don't particularly care for the 987 as compared to the 986. Just something about the 986 that I love so much. To each is own :)

In the next few weeks I will be doing the IMS, Clutch and RMS. As well installing a center radiator.

Then its time to install the Super Charger. So she drives how she looks!
