I got tired of polishing the stainless steel FabSpeed bypass pipes on my 993 Turbo last year, and decided to send them out to FD Motorsports to have them ceramic powder-coated in black velvet. Clamps and all. Love the results.

Just mechanical polishing by machine and by hand. At first with rougher sandpaper/sand pad and in the end with metal polish paste.

^I am afraid, that the great work you did will quickly discolor, as soon as your exhaust comes up to temp, and gets hot. That's why I opted for the ceramic powdercoating.

I did this a year ago and it stayed pretty shiny for a long time...though it is not a daily driver and doesn't see rain very often. Some of the chrome polishes have a something in them to help keep the shine longer.

That's some nice piece of work Whip! Even the little channels were all polished up, and I can tell your undercarriage is just as clean as new. NICE!!!!

Oh...I also heard you can Plasti-Dip the pipes if anyone wants matte black. I am planning on doing that with my vette track car.

It's amazing what gets cleaned and polished when the transmission is out waiting for clutch, IMS, RMS, and other parts being replaced while it is easy. :)

You sure the plasti-dip won't melt off or catch fire? Some exhaust components can get over 600*F+!

Actually, I should have said the tips and not pipes...I heard some peeps have Plasti-dipped their exhaust tips.

^Looks, good. Can you re-size to be slightly bigger for your avatar? I don't know what our size restrictions are.
