Porscheboy, did you ever throw your car on the dyno when you had the 2.7L?

Just wondering what that thing had at thewheels? Oh and what kind of drag or loss do you think a 6-speed S has. I'm talking about driveline power loss. I heard the industry standard is 15%, any ideas?

Don't worry about any drag/loss of the 6 speed. The gear ratios are all wrong. The ratios are for the 996 (same tranny) NOT the Boxster 'S'. That's what you should be worried about.

"Drove 6000 miles in 2 years [Boxster 'S'] and the gearing was horrible in my opinion....I was unhappy with the Boxster 'S'...
The Boxster 'S' should have gotten the 5 speed gearbox of the 2.7..."

Do you have any idea who CFG is? Ever heard of him? He knows more about Porsches than anyone on this board.

If you were to change the ratios for the S what would you give the car? It seems fine

to me, and I have driven a few highly regarded cars in the past and the tranny seems to fit in just fine. Are you trying to say the ratios should be more spread out like the 5- speed. How would that make it better? Or how would the 5 speed be any better than the 6. Just because the carrera has 320 horses I believe, doesn't mean the tranny is all wrong for 260, I dont buy it.

Hey Adam,

I should receive the car back perhaps next week... I might just wait to dyno it in the spring, but I have no idea yet??? I promise to post Any/And All findings on this board as soon as I have it done! As far as drag, etc. I have no idea??? I have heard before, but I have forgotten... Sorry bud! As far as the 5 and 6 speed transmissions... It's whatever you like!

Yeah, I only live about an hour and a half away from Springfield.

I plan on contacting Bob, the guy in charge of Lincoln trail. I look forward to meeting you Jay. I may email you because I have a few questions bout PCA.
Thanks,
Adam
