Hi, just purchased a 1997 Boxster with 20k miles- I added some wheels and decals. I like that old school look.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1347584566.jpg

That's why it only has 20k miles, they could only drive it at night. :)

I like the red and silver! If only it had red leather seats also....

or a red top.

In all honesty though, that car would look way better with black wheels

Hahaha......that only applies to yellow ones with 29" front wheels and 19" rear wheels. Hint.....look in your garage and the car profile.

I was looking into getting my rims red and now im more convinced it will look good on my gray Cassandra. Though i would do the lip red as well and the center cap with colored crest. But man that is really nice. Then again i take a closer look and that lip is pretty cool too. Well good job. oh and try to find some red seat belts that would top the look.

Those all red 550 taillights would look great too, maybe get the clear side markers as well.

Hey sweeper, nice Box. 20K miles! How is that possible? I try to keep mine below 7500/yr but it's difficult---want to drive her as a DD.

Where in KS are you? Is that Tuttle Creek Lake in the background by any chance? (Asked by a former Manhattan resident!)

The fronts are 33 and the rears are 52, and they're both 17 inches wide . Get it right !

Porsche ban lifted in Kansas

Thanks for the comments on the car! I put the wheels and stripes on a couple of days after I got it.

Rear: 255/35/zr18 front: 225/40/zr18 Yokohama. The red was just a whim and I figured I could/can change the color easy enough with a "dip" if needed.

I don't have any big plans for mods- maybe exhaust.

The pic was taken at Wyandotte County Lake in KCK- but a trip to Tuttle Creek in Manhattan would be nice this weekend if it doesn't rain.

Far as the 20k on the odometer

It was 20,100 when I got it and I just rolled 21,000 today....time to park it for a while. It showed a lease in NJ and then one owner in Kansas for the last 12 years- someones Garage Queen.

Welcome. Nice looking car.

Come to Topeka in October for our Fall Funfast driver's event. Join PCA if you're not already a member, sign up for the DE and have a blast with your car. Topeka is a fun track for us Boxster owners, not that long and lots of curves :) There are usually a lot of Boxsters there. Think about coming. You'll have fun

Bob
