Did you just tape and spray?

Looks good!

I have the same rims on a black car. I have been toying with the idea myself just to see if I like the black rims before laying down the cash for either new ones or having them refinished black.

They came out great! I really don't like these stock rims, but I've got other projects to tackle before I put money into new rims. I've got a lapis blue and I really don't know if I'll prefer black rims or chrome, so I've been thinking about plasti-dipping mine.

Do you mind sharing some detail about your process? Did you take your wheels off to do it? How many coats did you apply? Did you use the clear gloss afterward?

I put a card board around the wheel well, tape the logo of the center cap off and that's it, 5 layers with 30 minutes in between each, and no clear coat.

After it is done, cut around the rim and peel the side of the sidewall of the tires. I think lapis blue will be nice with gold rims too!

I did the same to my rims (both street and track sets) last year. You'll be amazed at how durable they are and if needed, just give them a quick spray to clean them up. Plus with black - no more noticeable brake dust!

Haha I Need to repaint them after I put my summer tires back on, the winter kinda kill the edges a little bit
