I would imagine the tires are the key to allowing fitment of 11" wheels, what size are they?

Msw-986 07-23-2012 03:54 AM

Nice look, must be a bugger on the kidneys when you hit a bump!

2003S 07-23-2012 05:31 AM

Man those look huge. Do you need to adjust the speedometer?

Johnny Danger 07-23-2012 06:22 AM

Don't believe it ! Let's see the proof ?

papasmurf 07-23-2012 09:16 AM

Looks good...I have to think 19" with that same style wheel would look even better IMO...the tires look to be all but non-existant.

You've almost got the perfect stance! A bit of lift and you'll have it just right...

+1, :p they look like rubber bands around the wheels

Joel-Box-ster 07-24-2012 11:45 PM

25...30 series tires ? a pothole can ruin your wheel. :(

particlewave 07-25-2012 08:15 PM

Not even a good photoshop...my child could have done better. :D
Shading/lighting is wrong, resolutions are off, clear pixelation between the wheel and tire, and the wheels aren't even centered well on the tires.

Lol

This is my 1st post on the forum and I can tell my future posts will be fun...lol...did not expect a hostile/hater type crowd; especially on a Porsche forum but i know it is not everyone on here

Just to clarify, this was NOT done on photoshop. The picture was taken on my iPhone 4S

This is real and cruising around the Toronto Area. I live in Maple, Ontario if some people want to see it live. just PM me :)

I can also tell some of you have not heard of the "stretch & poke" trend. If you don't know do a google search.

I have seen posts on here multiple times on how 20x11 wheels cannot fit on a 986 but i guess people get defensive when they are proved wrong.

This car is obviously not my track car. Looking foward to seeing what type of reply's i will get...lol :D

people get hostile when they find out that they can't necessarily believe what they've read on the internet. they become followers with nothing to follow; truly lost and prone to lashing out, like puppies taken from their mothers too soon.

what is stretch and poke? a quick search yields some tuner sites but no real explanation?

particlewave 07-26-2012 01:43 PM

Well, if you zoom in even a little, it does look fake, but I'll take your word. Still don't think 20's belong on a sports car, though.

However, its all about what you like, being that its your car. ;)

It's the new Ghetto Tuner look that is all the rage in Toronto. You squeeze a 9" wide tire onto an 11" wide rim. It essentially renders a true sports car completely useless except in a parking lot. Different strokes for different folks. I'm gonna have to pass thanks...

No one said that 20 inch wheels won't fit on a 986 boxster . Rather, barring some ridiculous feat of modification, it's been proven time and time again that an 11 inch wide wheel will not fit .

stephen wilson 07-26-2012 02:03 PM

That's why I was asking about tire sizes. The only 11" wheel I've seen fitted here ( without flares or something )had a 265 tire IIRC, which is way too narrow for an 11" wheel.

Funny trend. Useless, but funny.

Crono0001 07-26-2012 05:24 PM

I'm sorry, but that's as ugly as that backwards wing someone put on recently.
