Just got this 01 S a week ago. Love it! It's been along time since I've had a Porsche and decided its time. I was lucky to find this beauty with only 45K miles on it and snatched it up.
While looking for one I would lurked around this forum and its been a great help, thank you everyone!

Louis

Very nice! I just bought an 02 myself and stood between my silver 02 and a grey 01 like yours very tough choice I love the seal grey paint-do you happen to know the name of the wheels on yours those are the ones I'm looking for are they 18 or 19 inch?

Raider 07-10-2012 07:16 PM

They are 18's, but not sure of the name or brand. They are factory wheels and look like BBS wheels. They are a bit more work to clean, but I do like them.

Nice car! The Wheels are Sport Classic II's.

Nice! I love the wheels too! Great to see another new DFW area Boxster owner. I just got my 2001 S on July 2nd! I still can't wipe the grin off my face!

Thanks! I looked for about a year to find a nice one, sad to see so many rough ones out there. Found a base Lapis blue with tan inerior, looked great in the pics, looked like hell in person.
Don't see these wheels very often either, I think this might be the 3rd one I saw in year during my search.
One of the good things about this car is that it doesn't have those garbage cup holders!

I bet I looked at the same one with the tan interior down in Arlington! Yuk! Hey, I sort of like the cup holders, I have to have a place to hold some water in this Texas heat! They are definitely not the greatest holder but I am coming to terms with it:eek:

Yes,the Arlington one, pretty rough and still for sale. Should be 9k not 13k!

Do they have a cup holder delete kit?:) both of mine are broken and replacement holders are pricey

you can go for the euro set up.. no cup holders. climate control under the radio

rubberised tray in the bottom console slot and cd storage in the upper slot.

i'll take and post a pic

Seal grey is beeauuutifulll!!!!!

Welcome, and I kinda like my cupholders!

1olddude 07-28-2012 01:41 PM

Congrats on the find! Drive it like you stole it. I kind of like the cup holders though one in the center console would be much more functional. Germans must not have Big Gulps and 7-Elevens:)

Thanks everyone for the compliments! Its made driving fun again. Its been a real long time since I've had a Porsche, they were all aircooled so its been a while. I had several 914's, a 356B S90, and my favorite ever was a 70 914/6. It was more primative (and slower) than this, but seriously fun. Getting this was like going home, not a mid-life crises.
Don't drink and drive (or eat).........that's multitasking, so I don't need cup holders.
