New Forgestar F14's
 

Just had Forgestar F14's in gunmetal mounted on my 2001 base. Was running stock 17's before, went with 18's on the Forgestars.

Previous:
Front 17x7 55mm offset, 205/50/zr17 Continental Extreme Contact
Rear 17x8.5 48mm offset, 255/40/zr17 CEC

Current:
Front 18x8.5 46mm offest, 225/40/zr18 Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110
Rear: 18x10 40mm offset, 265/35/zr18 HV12

The Forgestars are light...even with much bigger rims and heavier tires, I'm only up 2lbs per in the front and less than that in the rear. Appologies for the grainy cell phone pic...

Can you get a shot of the alignment of the rear rims against the wheelwell? From the back of the car? I'm looking at a similar rear size and am curious how much wider they stick out than my stock wheels.

This is the only rear shot I have handy. Basically, the rear wheels line up almost exactly vertically with the fender/wheel well. They might be recessed 3-4mm and that's about it.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1341853641.jpg

Yeah, that was what I was afraid of.

In your pic, I don't like how the sidewall is flexed such that the tread is inwards of the rim. I'd go wider on the tires to alleviate this. Plus, I'm going to install my ROW M030 kit soon. So that'll bring the tire even closer to the fender, where there's not much clearance already.

BTW, those F14s are sharp! Very nice.

Who came up with those assets ?

JD: By assets do you mean the weight specs? Rims: wheelweights.net and Forgestar. Tires: Tire Rack. I haven't independently weighed either set.

Aha! Offsets, now that makes sense. Wanted a more aggressive set-up than I had and shot for getting the wheel close to flush with the fender.

I like it but it seems like you need to now lower it and get rid of the gap

Agreed. Why does making one change always lead to another?

I just bought a set of these in the same sizes.
two things:
1. they require conical lug nuts/bolts
2. they require hubcentric rings; I can't seem to find 72.6 to 71.6 hub rings
