Blue Ridge Parkway

Who has driven this road? Enjoy it? Worth the drive to get there?

I would have a 12 hour trip just to drive it, although I have heard it is an amazing road to drive. Maybe this summer.....

it's "pretty" more than fun. some decent turns but most people are there to enjoy the leisurely drive. if you're looking for fun and excitement i would suggest the tail of the dragon over this one. for a nice relaxing drive it's good.

I was looking for leisurely with scenery, sounds like the ticket.

On the Great Salt Lake, drifting is fun and can be done at rather slow speed. It's like driving with snow tires on packed snow. Another strange thing is driving with your eyes closed, so vast out there.....

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a beautiful drive with great road conditions. I went up there this weekend to continue the break in of my friends brand new 991 'S'. It was 85 degrees in Charlotte and 49 on top of Mt Mitchell (6684). There are so many hidden roads in NC that are fun. We drove around the back side of Lake James and then too 221a to the Blue Ridge. 221a is a bad aass road, it was an amazing drive up pushing the 991 to 8/10ths (at my skill level :) ). We drove for 7 hours exploring every back road we could find. I have another 3 day trip planned with family and other Porsche friends at the end of April, we'll be heading west to the tail of dragon and all other roads we can hit within a 100 mile radius of it.

Blue Ridge is one of my favorite roads and we go to VA every year...highly recommended!
