2005 Further Info from Autoweek

Not Much of a boost on HP so it seems. Sort of disappointed thought it would bang out close to 300 HP. Though not official Autoweek has probably inside info on car. This is the article from Autoweek for the coming week.

It’s been just two months since our spies last spotted the 2005 Boxster on a test drive (May 10), and now they’ve bagged the baby Porsche again—this time running in nearly final trim.

Shown above is the base Boxster powered by a lightly reworked 2.7-liter flat six producing about 238 hp and better low-end torque. Look for the revamped roadster to debut at next January’s Detroit auto show, with the Boxster coupe’s premiere following at Frankfurt in fall 2005.

Photos of the Boxster S appear below. Note the double-pipe exhaust in the rear photo, one of the subtle visual differences between the base Boxster and its performance sibling. The new Boxster S' 3.2-liter flat six should push close to 270 hp when it debuts at the 2005 Detroit show or shortly thereafter.

Jeezzz loueeezzz. Talk about a gentle massage and not a complete overhaul. It took me a good min or two to figure out if that was the 986 or the 987. Yay!! 10 more hp! Glad I didn't wait for the 05 S.
