As you can see the bearing was in great shape. The seals were intact; no visible problems. It did seem to have a lot of drag on it though; perhaps that is the nature of this sealed bearing but it did feel odd. I didn't do it myself and the price of the kit was marked up by the installer of course.
I was glad that I had a dual row which means I have got a strong dual row hybrid in there now.
Many of the bearings changed out are fine it seems. At the time I was in there was a fellow who's bearing was just failing and sprinkles of metal in his fliter. I think he barely got away with the retro fit. I have never heard of anything so close. Time will tell whether he is in the clear.
